The System Performance division provides a single ‘sourceof truth’ regarding progress towards the achievement of thedepartment’s strategic objectives, and has a lead role indeveloping an evidence-based culture and strategy capability. Aspart of the division, the Data Reporting and Analytics (DRA)directorate is responsible for ensuring that information andevidence is effectively used across the Department for Education toadvance the learning and wellbeing of children and young people.The directorate’s staff play a key role in ensuring that dataand evidence is relevant, robust and accessible.

The Data for Educators project, being delivered by DataReporting and Analytics, has been commissioned as part of the nextphase of the school improvement initiative to support the deliveryof data and information to teachers in a way that supports actionand improvement planning. It includes three sub-projects to managethe delivery of a measurement and assessment framework, identifybest practice, and the build and implementation of data-centredproducts and practices across the system.

The Principal Consultant, Engagement Lead will be responsiblefor developing the strategic engagement methodology for the Datafor Educators sub-projects, ‘Best practice from thefield’ and ‘Data for Teachers’. This will includeplanning approaches to system-wide engagement and consultationincluding convening and facilitating reference/user groups anddesign workshops, leading to the identification of high qualitydata-centred practice from the field. Further, in collaborationwith subject matter experts and experienced educators, the rolewill be responsible for providing recommendations for data productdevelopment and implementation for schools. The role will act as aconduit between corporate office divisions and the field, liaisingwith Central Directors, Education Directors, Principal Consultants,School Leaders and Teachers.

Essential Qualifications
Anappropriate tertiary qualification in education or related field orrelevant experience.

Special Conditions
The successful applicantis required to gain a Department of Human Services (DHS) working with children check(WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to berenewed every five years before expiry. A current DHS child-relatedemployment screening will be recognised as a WWCC until it expires.The incumbent will be required to undertake Responding to Abuse& Neglect (RAN) full day/online training course every threeyears. For all other Special Conditions please refer to the RoleDescription.
