About Yarrabah State School

Yarrabah State School is located in the picturesque Yarrabah Community just 50 minutes south of Cairns City. Comprising three separate campuses (Pre-Prep, Primary and Secondary), our school caters students from Pre-Prep to Year Ten living in the community of Yarrabah and outlying areas.

All of our students are EAL/D learners, speaking Yarrie Lingo (an Aboriginal English/ Kriol) and with varying degrees of command of Standard Australian English. Our Special Education Unit is located at the Primary campus and provides support to verified students across all three campuses.

Your Role

As the Principal you will have responsibility for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.

  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in life long learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.

A mandatory requirement of this role is:

  • Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland. For more information please CLICK HERE.
