About the role and portfolio

The Centre for Academic Quality and Enhancement (CAQE) sits within the Education Portfolio under the direction of the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor Education, Quality & Enhancement. CAQE and its operations and projects support consistency in design and approach across RMIT University, supporting compliance and driving continuous improvement in all accredited programs and products, enhancing our student and staff experience. 

The Centre partners and collaborates with RMIT Colleges/Schools and other portfolios to support staff across the University to embed a culture of Academic Quality. 

The Operations Manager, Quality and Enhancement will report to the Senior Manager, Enablement and Operations, and support the Centre’s Senior Leadership Team. The role has three direct reports and will be accountable for managing the development and implementation of the projects, bodies of work and reporting procedures for the Centre. You will play a vital role in the monitoring and controlling projects, completing status reporting, progress and risk management required to support the Centre’s strategic directions and ensuring alignment with the University directions.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven ability to work constructively as a team member and to initiate high-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management and analytical skills.
  • Experience in working accurately with detailed information in a high-volume environment whilst providing high-level administrative support within a university or similar large and complex organization.
  • Collaborative and adaptable;, comfortable in working in fast-paced and dynamic environments. 


  •  Be responsible for the delivery of high-level projects that drive real and measurable impact across the enterprise.
