Senior Lecturer (Level C)

• Part time (14 hours/week) Fixed term for 12 months
• Salary: level C ($132K-152K) Plus 17% superannuation and leave loading (Pro-rata)
• Sydney based

A Senior Lecturer (Level C) will conduct high quality research and make a significant contribution to educational excellence in the School and Faculty. This position is also intended to support a consultant psychiatrist in the early-career stages of a clinical academic career by enabling supervised research (e.g. early post-PhD period) and teaching activities to be carried out as well as ensuring recognised contributions towards professional and administrative activities in the School of Psychiatry.

The role of Senior Lecturer reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.

Skills And Experience

• Medical degree (i.e. MBBS or MD) with medical registration in Australia and possession of FRANZCP
• A PhD, or relevant degree, in Psychiatry or a related discipline and/or relevant work experience.
• An existing clinical role with one of our health service partners (SESLHD, SWSLHD or the UNSW Health Service) is desirable
• Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs, at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• Demonstrated ability to publish quality research and/or obtain research funding
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
• Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.
