JOB DESCRIPTION

ECU’s Social Work course seeks to develop students ability to work within a complex, uncertain and contested social work practice environment by developing their professional competencies. The Field Education component is an important element for student development and an integral part of the Bachelor of Social Work degree.

We are seeking to appoint an appropriately experienced and qualified operational coordinator with excellent relationship management and organisational skills to seek and secure placement opportunities for students, support the placement program, and build strong links between students, the university and the social work profession.

The role is responsible for establishing, supporting and managing partnerships with field placement providers, and supporting our students, to produce placements opportunities that comply with AASW requirements and meet the individual student’s learning needs.

The successful applicant will possess:

  • A tertiary qualification (preferably in Social Work or similar profession) with a minimum of two (2) years appropriate professional experience;
  • Effective interpersonal and relationship management skills with demonstrated achievement in negotiation, conflict resolution and the ability to build strong professional relationships;
  • A functional knowledge of the industry, the external forces that shape it, and opportunities suitable for social work student placement;
  • Strong administrative skills and governance skills, and
  • Contemporary and adaptive computer, system and software skills (A working knowledge of SONIA would be advantageous).
You will also demonstrate personal attributes that are congruent with the University’s values of Integrity, Respect, Rational Inquiry and Personal Excellence.

Benefits & Remuneration
This part-time, ongoing position attracts remuneration of $82,658 - $89,180 pa (HEW 6 per annum pro rata 80%) plus 17% university superannuation contribution.
