Salary: $70,000

Our client, Simili Training a Registered Training Organisation, is looking to fill a full time position for a Workplace Trainer and Assessor. The client is an industry-leading RTO that offers a complete range of courses and is committed to provide individuals/ companies with the best training to increase their effectiveness and get the right skills for the job.

You will develop, prepare, deliver, assess and evaluate qualifications whilst ensuring that contractual and compliance requirements for the delivery of programs are met in accordance with Australian Qualification Training Framework and NSW Registration and Qualifications Authority.

You will apply your skills to develop and deliver courses in accordance with training packages and industry requirements and will ensure students and organisation satisfaction benchmarks are met or exceeded.

This role is a fast paced and varied role. You will demonstrate the capacity to actively participate in trainer/assessor meetings and proactively networks with colleagues.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related area or minimum of two years of related experience and familiarity with working in a training environment.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Identify the various needs of students and create effective learning options to meet these needs
  • Liaise with individuals, industry and education sectors to ensure provision of relevant programs and services
  • Prepare for, conduct and document both training delivery and assessment procedures, using approved training delivery plans
  • Plan, design and develop course curriculum and method of instruction
  • Advise students on courses and related matters
  • Teach students using teaching aids including presentation of lesson materials, discussions, workshops, laboratory sessions, multimedia aids and computer tutorials
  • Mark and grade students' assignments, papers and exams and provide feedback to students about their progress
  • Complete and maintain all training records accurately, document assessment results and submit to the appropriate authority
  • Consult with Education Managers, Librarians, Student Counsellors and other support staff
  • Contribute to the development of training curricula
  • Manage a range of training programs
  • Participate in moderation/validation sessions as required

To be considered for this position you will need to demonstrate:

  • Ability to develop VET training programs
  • Possess a high level of organisational and time management skills
  • Possess high level written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to resolve conflict situations
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including the Microsoft suite of products and database applications
  • Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of both group and individual learning
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting competency assessments
  • Supervise and manage the implementation of programs planned, scheduled and approved
