We are currently seeking;
Part-time/Full Time Student Councellors for our Melbourne Campuses
Main Responsibilities include:
Liaise with other departments to support and coordinate aspects of student support including vocational, relationship, social and educational difficulties.
Identify any potential risks for students and suggests solutions to management to resolve/address the same
Assist in organising student accommodation, orientation day, welcome date, induction to safety systems and other infrastructure at campus
Work closely with the Coordinators to organise individual learning plans/contract for students with reported learning difficulties
Assist the Coordinator to ensure that students have a positive learning experience while completing the course/s
Attend to student concerns or complaints as required and report this to the relevant department as required.
Maintain orderly filing systems for records, reports, correspondence and other documents
Skills and experience
Qualification:
Diploma or higher qualification in Counselling or other relevant streams
Minimum 1 year experience in similar role.
Current registration with AHPRA as Psychologist
Skills and Competencies:
Clear and effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with little direct supervision
Capacity to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to listen to concerns raised and suggest effective solutions
Highly developed and effective interpersonal skills with colleagues and students
Highly developed organisational skills including record keeping of student performance
Capacity to provide positive mentoring services to support students
Knowledge of WHS management processes
