The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary full time position as an EAL/D Teacher at St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park commencing from 1 March 2021 (start date negotiable) until 17 December 20

  • As a member of the School Improvement Services Primary Team, this position requires significant experience in curriculum and capacity to support EAL/D students within Primary Schools. This role is part of a wider EAL/D team. ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA Demonstrate a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.A well articulated understanding and application of student centred, quality EAL/D pedagogical practices that are grounded in current evidence based research.The ability to identify EAL/D student needs and plan interventions K-
  • Apply knowledge of the diverse needs of students of EAL/D to support their full participation in learning.Ability to plan for and implement effective teaching and learning for EAL/D students.Use a range of assessment strategies and analyse data to inform student learning.Demonstrate commitment to engage professionally with colleagues, parents /carers and the wider school community. GENERAL CAPABILITIES Well-developed interpersonal skills. Well-developed oral and written communication skills. Strong organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. QUALIFICATIONS TESOL training or a willingness to undertake such training.Appropriate qualifications for teaching Primary K –
  • Accredited Level B to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.The applicant must be accredited with NESA to teach in NSW. WORKING WITH CHILDREN CLEARANCEThis role is classified as child related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required prior to your employment with CEDoW.
