  • School Officer Level 4 commencing at $31.44 per hour
St Peter's is a Catholic primary school, situated in central Caboolture, with a student population of 676 and a staff of 72.

St Peter’s Aquatic Centre has two heated pools (a 25 metre 7 lane pool and a 15 metre learn to swim pool), modern change facilities and offers a range of swim programs and services on admission and session fees. It operates 6.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday.

In this role under the supervision of the Aquatic Centre Coordinator you will assist in the preparation, coordination and delivery of swimming programs offered by the Aquatic Centre, providing a source of program support to swim instructors and participants.

Typical duties include, but are not limited to:
- Encourage and foster participation in swimming across all age groups and abilities;
- Collaborate with Aquatic Centre Coordinator on the ongoing implementation and modification of centre swimming programs;
- Coordinate conduct and review swimming training programs;
- Provide a source of aquatic education program support to a broad range of swim learners; and their swim instructors;
- Promote a positive swimming environment with centre;
- Undertake opening and closing procedures as required;
- Organise and undertake pool and lane set-ups to meet swim program requirements;
- Ensure that workplace health and safety standards are met, and self-compliance with BCE and Principal approved workplace health and safety policies, procedures and requirements and report any risks and hazards to the Aquatic Centre Coordinator;
- Keep the Aquatic Centre Coordinator informed of pool activities, facility repairs and needs; and
- Maintain appropriate documentation and record keeping required by the Aquatic Centre Coordinator.

To be successful in this role you will be an experienced Swim Coach and hold current:
- ASCTA coaching licence with a minimum standard of Bronze level accreditation;
- Experience in coordination and delivery of a suite of swimming programs;
- First Aid and CPR Certificate;
- Blue Card (or be eligible to apply for a Blue Card); and
- A flexible and cooperative approach to working varying hours within the spread of operating hours of the Aquatic Centre.

It is desirable, but not essential, to hold a Pool Lifeguard Certificate and be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of programs.

You must have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education, be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.

Position Tenure: Fixed Term

Weeks Worked: Up to 52 weeks per year including school holidays

Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term): until 19 Jul 2021 (with possibility of extension)

Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: Full-time - 38 hours / week

Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 4 commencing at $31.44 per hour

Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
