Chidlow Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deputy Principal to join their friendly team.

In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the Deputy Principal provides strong educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision, and encouraging school staff, members of the community and others to share ownership of the school’s vision, ‘Creating champions in learning and life”.

Successful applicants who have the ability to inspire excellence in teaching and learning, and build positive and connected relationships with staff, students and the community to ensure success for all students, will be highly regarded. Experience in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) system management and supporting staff to develop their capacity to integrate digital technologies and STEM into the curriculum is highly desirable. In addition, knowledge and experience in explicit teaching approaches, the case management of Students at Educational Risk (SAER), implementing positive behaviour support and developing student engagement to drive consistent whole school approaches is required.

As the Deputy Principal, you will ideally be motivated, hard-working and a highly effective leader with outstanding interpersonal skills to work flexibly and innovatively in a small school context. Previous experience with rigorous analysis of whole school data to work collaboratively with staff to drive planning for improved student outcomes is highly desirable. The successful applicant with work closely with the Principal and School Board to plan and execute the strategic direction of the School Plan through rigorous and reflective practice in order to build continuously towards a positive school culture focused on ongoing improvement. This position also includes a teaching role and applicants with the ability to effectively manage both teaching and leadership responsibilities will be highly considered.

Chidlow PS is a lovely semi-rural school, set on the outskirts of the metropolitan area in the Perth Hills, three kilometres from Lake Leschenaultia. Picturesque school grounds are surrounded by bushland.   • High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;

  • Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

ELIGIBILITY

Employees Will Be Required To
  • Provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy
  • hold a recognised qualification in teaching and be currently registered or eligible for registration to teach in Western Australia;
  • Obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment; and
  • Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
TRAINING

Employees Will Be Required To
  • Complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
  • Complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four () day breach period to this selection process.
