We are seeking a School Officer/Teacher Aide to undertake a range of tasks in supporting the needs of students across our learning community. Under the direction of classroom teachers and the Support Teacher Inclusive Education (ST-IE), the successful applicant will provide general classroom support, with a targeted focus on supporting our learners.
Ideally the successful applicant will have: previous experience as a School Officer/Teacher Aide and/or hold a minimum a Cert 3 in Educational Support; proven communication and interpersonal skills; an understanding of the work of a primary school classrooms and a willingness to work as part of a team. You will also demonstrate an ability and initiative to apply your skills in supporting students to achieve successful learning outcomes. St. Thomas is a co-educational primary school with a student population of 328 children from Prep to Year 6. Our school offers a contemporary approach to teaching and learning, supported by a technology rich environment and extra-curricular activities. To be successful in this role you will:
Estimated Start Date: Commencing 16 February 2021
Position Tenure: Fixed Term
Weeks Worked: School term weeks only (holidays unpaid)
Tenure Duration (If Fixed Term): to 3 December 2021
Total Paid Hours (per wk) & Days Required: 18.25 hours per week (Tuesday-Friday)
Salary Level, Range or Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 2 - $27.43 per hour
Employment Conditions: Diocesan Catholic Education Employing Authorities in Queensland Single Interest Agreement
This position involves working with children. The appointment of successful applicants will be subject to satisfactory employment screening for child related employment in accordance with the law.
