About the role

An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, experienced individual, who enjoys variety within a challenging role, to join our team at our Little Mountain Campus. We are an active part of the Little Mountain, Sunshine Coast community and will continue to expand our services in the Sunshine Coast region, utilising our integrated community model.

The Little Mountain Aquatic Centre as part of our community hub, boasts the following state-of-the-art swim facilities:

  • 25m heated lap pool
  • 7.5m undercover heated learn-to-swim pool
  • Ample amenities, seating and storage

You will play a key role in ensuring an environment that will provide positive benefits to the health, fitness and well-being of the clients of our Aquatic Centre. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting regular assessments of the pool and pool surrounds to ensure a safe environment;
  • Attending administrative tasks at Pool Entry including bookings, family finances and enquiries;
  • Provide operational support to the Aquatic Centre Coordinator and other team members in the delivery of events, as required;
  • Act as Chief Warden for all facilities within the complex and liaise with emergency services, as required.

This opportunity will require you to work across a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday, with a roster to be discussed with the suitable candidate. The Aquatic Centre’s current operational hours are 6am-6pm Monday to Friday and 6am-12pm Saturdays

About you

You are a highly motivated and confident Lifeguard with experience in the aquatics industry. Due to your excellent communication and customer service skills you have the capacity to work effectively with numerous competing priorities. Your can-do attitude and pro-active approach enable you to be efficient and reliable, with a passion to help your clients achieve positive health, fitness and well-being outcomes. Your excellent relational skills will help foster a sense of community and welcome and also allow you to positively promote our programs in the community and with our partners to help grow the business.

Your experience and qualifications for this role include:

  • Strong communication skills with an ability to inspire others;
  • Experience in an administrative role;
  • Current Pool Lifeguard Qualification;
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate;
  • Current working with children (blue) card or ability to obtain;
  • Experience in aquatic industry and a Pool Plant Operations Certificate are a plus but not essential.
