About the Centre/Service

We are currently recruiting for a full time Early Childhood Teacher on a six month contract at our service in Yarraville. This is a 158-place service operating nine rooms (6 weeks to 5 years) including an integrated funded kinder program.

Description

Reporting to the Manager, Early Learning you will work collaboratively with a team of educators in implementing and contributing to a high-quality pedagogical program by role modelling professional practice reflective of Gowrie Victoria’s purpose, philosophy and values. You will do this by:

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and the broader community.
• Coaching and mentoring educators to achieve individual and team goals.
• Developing documentation that demonstrates intentional teaching and reflects children’s curiosity and learning.
• Actively participating in, sharing and embedding professional learning in the pursuit of higher standards.

Qualifications

You will bring to the role:

• Minimum three (3) year Bachelor of Education in early education and VIT registration
• Comprehensive knowledge and application of the NQF, EYLF and VEYLDF through an emergent play-based curriculum.
• Experience working with children with a range of abilities and interests.
• Demonstrated ability to implement inclusive programs that are respectful of equity and diversity.
• Previous leadership experience and/or a willingness to participate in deep professional learning to develop this competency.
• An ability to work effectively in a team and engage in regular critical reflection.
