JOB DESCRIPTION

What will you do?

Be part of an innovative and experienced ECIS team who provide specialist support to children and their families. The Therapy/Allied Health Assistant supports children to achieve their goals working alongside the therapists and teachers in the ECIS program. Services are delivered in variety of settings, offering high quality group and individualised programs to children and their families.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Assisting with program planning for learning groups including the arrangement and pack away of group spaces that enable high-quality learning for children and families.
Preparing of resources for group programs to ensure that they are always adequately equipped for delivery.
Working in group programs alongside therapists and early childhood teachers to deliver high quality outcomes for children and their families during school terms and school holidays.
Work collaboratively with key workers to develop an individualised programs
Delivering a play-based program in the family home, community setting or MCM centre
Performing administrative tasks to support the operations of the ECIS services including but not limited to managing the enrolments for group programs.
Skills and experience

Essential:
A relevant Children’s Services, Early Childhood or Allied Health Assistant qualification.
Demonstrated experience working in a Children’s Service or working with children from birth to 7 years of age.
A good knowledge and understanding of child development.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children and their families.
An understanding of the requirements for ensuring child safety.
