This is a permanent part-time (0.6FTE) position commencing Term 2, 2021.

Beechboro Primary School (PS) is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher - Early Childhood Education (ECE) to join their school.

We are seeking a teacher who is able to teach a diverse group of Kindergarten students. You will possess the ability to work in a cohesive team. You will ideally have a thorough knowledge of ECE Curriculum, and excellent behaviour management strategies.

The successful applicant will desirably be Early Childhood trained and have knowledge of Early Years Foundations and National Quality Standards. You will have excellent curriculum knowledge and ideally Professional Learning to be able to implement Primary Literacy Programmes, in particular, Promoting Literacy Development (Diana Rigg), Talk4Writing, 1st Steps strategies and Paul Swan Mathematics strategies. The ability to collaborate and work in a team of successful Early Childhood Teachers and Education Assistants, success in conflict resolution, as well as Teaching EAL/D students in mainstream classes and be familiar with Professional Learning Communities will be highly regarded.

Beechboro PS is 13 Km from Perth with approximately 350 students. Students who attend the school have a diverse cultural background with around 45% from a non-English speaking background, many unable to speak English or have very little language when they commence their schooling in Kindergarten. The ECE centre is second to none, well-resourced with a very cohesive and dedicated staff who work collaboratively.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate your competency against the following domains (that govern the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers):

  • Professional knowledge;
  • Professional practice; and
  • Professional engagement.
