We are currently seeking an experienced Workplace Relations Consultant to join the team to cover a period of parental leave.

About The Job

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a legal professional looking to join an in-house team. In this role you will provide specialist technical and strategic advice regarding various workplace relations matters across the university.

You will manage or support others in the management of complex disciplinary processes and performance management processes, investigate claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, workplace bullying and others, as required and assist with bargaining, drafting and implementation of enterprise agreements.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in law, specialising in employee relations or industrial relations; employee relations or industrial relations industry experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
  • Demonstrated understanding of the law relating to workplace and industrial relations and an ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards, legislation, contracts and policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or advising on unsatisfactory performance/conduct, change management processes, grievances, terminations and redundancy processes
  • A demonstrated understanding of human resource practices, procedures and principles
