The opportunity

TAFE NSW is looking for qualified, experienced individuals who wish to be considered for the full time, permanent position of Teacher Community Services (Aged Care). The role of the TAFE Teacher as a professional educator is to help, construct, guide and enhance the educative process. The teacher delivers educational programs and facilitates learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. This position will be located at the Bankstown campus

About you

You are passionate about sharing your extensive industry experience in Aged Care and Home Care Services. You have the ambition and drive to succeed and mentor students, passing on your experience and knowledge and you have demonstrated experience in delivering training in an adult learning environment.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Recognised Degree or Diploma in any of the following areas; Nursing
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or a Diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education
  • Minimum of three years’ experience (postgraduate) in either a Residential and/or Community Aged Care environment where the skills and knowledge of your qualification have been applied, at least part of which is industry current
  • Demonstrated experience teaching adults (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience working with different cultures
  • Well-developed communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment
