JOB DESCRIPTION

Full-time teacher of English literacy support for High School (Y7-9 focus). Sydney Eastern Suburbs.

Your new company
Located in Sydney's eastern suburbs this independent school caters for students from early childhood to year 12. The school values community and academic achievement within a nurturing and caring educational environment.

Your new role
To support students in achieving educational success, an English teacher for years 7-12 is required to take on this role with a focus in curriculum and student support. This role will include providing support around scaffolding, pre/post teaching to small groups of students, and one on one support for students, ensuring that all students are able to excel in their learning. This role will have a strong focus on early stages (Years 7 and 8). This role will also include coordination of the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD) for the schools reporting and funding for special needs students.

What you'll need to succeed
This role requires:

  • NESA registered English teacher or learning support teacher with secondary focus.
  • Current WWCC
  • Strong working knowledge of NSW and Australian Curriculum standards
  • Ability to differentiate, scaffold and modify curriculum to suit individual learning needs
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and in a range of delivery modes, adapting to small groups and 1 on 1 teaching supporting the secondary English curriculum program.
  • Strong administration and reporting skills allowing you to effectively coordinator collection of data for NCCD.
