About the role:

The Teacher – Process Manufacturing develops high quality and innovative course materials and provides excellent teaching delivery to learners with a permanent cognitive impairment or intellectual disability. This includes:
  • supporting student success in Work Education & Transition Education courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathways
  • ensuring Box Hill Institute compliance requirements are met.
  • providing pastoral care to students as appropriate.
The Teacher – Process Manufacturing is one of several positions in the Youth Programs unit of the Foundation Studies Department. The position reports to the Manager Youth Programs and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners and employees of the Box Hill Institute at all levels.

Your skills and experience
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 (or TAE40110 plus relevant units) or higher teaching qualification in adult education
  • Relevant industry qualifications at Certificate III Level, or higher preferred.
  • Compliance Administration: Demonstrated ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including course materials, unit plans and assessment tools. Demonstrated proficiency and capability student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required, and resulting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability or the capacity to work and provide support and advice to students and employees of diverse cultures, backgrounds and abilities, including effective communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills relevant to a learning environment. Ability to quickly develop rapport and positive working relations with colleagues from a range of social and cultural backgrounds.
  • Administrative Systems: An appreciation of administrative requirements required for the coordination of vocation education and training, an understanding of OH&S, equity and equal opportunities, and legislation to TAFE teaching, and previous experience in computer software applications and experience with electronic administration systems desirable.
You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.
