The Future Students Directorate (FSD) forms part of the External Engagement Portfolio, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (External Engagement) and is responsible for the University’s engagement activities. The Portfolio brings together various business units from across the University, including UQ Press, UQ Art Museum, Indigenous Engagement, Institute of Continuing and TESOL Education, Advancement, Global Engagement & Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Communication and Future Students.

Future Students Australia is a performance-focused team that works closely with schools, Australia-based agents and “non-school leavers” channels to raise UQ’s profile and to recruit undergraduate and postgraduate students. Student recruitment and outreach events are run all year round throughout Queensland as well as all major Australian capital cities and key regional areas.

About This Opportunity

The Senior Manager, Student Recruitment (Australia) is responsible for leading the delivery of an integrated student recruitment and conversion strategy for domestic and international students in Australia to achieve enrolment targets. Leading a team, the incumbent will work towards an outcome focused approach to student recruitment.

This position is located at our picturesque St Lucia campus, renowned as one of Australia’s most attractive university campuses, and located just 7km from Brisbane’s city centre. Bounded by the Brisbane River on three sides, and with outstanding public transport connections, our 114-hectare site provides a perfect work environment – you can enjoy the best of both worlds: a vibrant campus with the tradition of an established university.

Our Ideal Candidate

  • A postgraduate degree and/or extensive relevant experience. Qualifications in business, marketing or international relations are desirable or extensive experience in business development in a sales environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Data driven and analytical approach to decision making
  • Experience in recruitment in a B2B and B2C environment
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver to tight deadlines, changing priorities and to take accountability for decisions
  • Highly effective in management and creative solution-driven skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members for shared outcomes and results
  • The ability to lead and inspire high performing teams in a competitive environment
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a performance-focussed culture instilling best practice principles to achieve outcomes
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage budgets and allocate priorities to maximise outcomes

What We Can Offer

This is a full-time, fixed term position for up to 12 months at HEW Level 9.

The full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $117,548 - $124,391, plus super of up to 17%.
