Swinburne’s Admissions and Enrolments Team seeks a Team Leader (National Admissions) to ensure that all national admissions service levels and quality standards are adhered to, in relation to processing of applications and Advanced Standing. In this role, you will directly support the National Admissions Manager through delivering your subject matter expertise on admissions in the Pathways and Vocational Education (PAVE) and Higher Education (HE) sector, direct entry and VTAC.

The Team Leader (National Admissions) will manage the Admissions Officers, ensuring daily workloads and KPI’s are met in the processing of applications. In addition, you will contribute to staff training for direct and VTAC selection.
As the Team Leader (National Admissions), you will play a key role in supporting the processing of VTAC applications, domestic direct applications, assessing of Advanced Standing requests and deferrals. Your role will be integral to ensuring that admissions processes abide by compliance and reporting requirements for both vocational education (VE) and HE applications. Your tasks will also include VTAC publishing, maintenance of selection criteria and Advanced Standing documents and study plan expansion.

To be successful for this position, you will possess a detailed understanding of the VET Funding Contract (including knowledge of Free TAFE, PTR & LLN) and its impact on admissions procedures and training for staff in VE admissions practices.

About you
To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Completion of an undergraduate level qualification with substantial relevant experience or a combination of relevant experience and education or training
  • Proven experience and in-depth understanding of domestic admissions and advanced standing processing and assessment
  • Excellent organisational skills including an uncompromising attention to detail and ability to work to pressured deadlines
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
