Our client is a Registered training organisation focused on developing career paths for individuals currently working in, entering or considering employment in the relevant industry. We are currently seeking a Training Manager (Student services) in Sydney:

Training Manager (Student Services)

  • Newly created role
  • Perm F/T role based in Parramatta
  • Salary – $80k-$85K + Super

  • Reports to: RTO Manager
  • Direct reports: NSW- 3 Program Coordinator and 1 Work Placement Coordinator

Purpose of the position:

The Training Manager Student Services is responsible for leading best practice training delivery across all programs and ensuring training is aligned with client and student needs, industry standards and compliance requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities Accountabilities:

  • Promotes and adheres to the organisation’s vision, values (Passion, Courage and Excellence) and our commitment (Customer, Communication, Collaboration, Consistency and Compliance)
  • Leading a team of Senior Program Coordinators, Program Coordinators, Program Administrators and Work Placement Coordinators to ensure best practice and quality outcomes
  • Responsible for contributing to the planning of upcoming courses and approving courses when they have achieved minimum numbers
  • Ensure that students' progress and are held accountable in conjunction with engagement strategies
  • Ensuring that our JA communication strategy is followed and make refinements and improvements if needed
  • Managing course progressions and making rectifications to ensure course outcomes are met
  • Ensuring work placement activity is completed in set timeframe, students have been assessed and work placement books are compliant and complete
  • Reviewing work placement strategies, making recommendation and implementing improvements
  • Reviewing training programs and delivery strategies, making recommendation and implementing improvements
  • Monitor training programs and ensure all delivery/ student related matters are handled in an accurate and timely manner
  • Monitoring and reporting on identified training delivery metrics * Upholds WHS policies, procedures and legislative requirements and demonstrates active leadership in controlling hazards/ incidents and managing the risk to safeguard the health, safety and wellbeing of all who may be affected.

KPI’s:

  • Reviews program costings for all training programs and ensure delivery is within budget
  • Completion rates are in line with program requirements
  • Implement and adhere to Training and Assessment Strategies and update as necessary
  • Creates, implements and reviews processes to ensure business efficiency and excellence
  • All Work Placement requirements to commence within 30 days of face to face training completion
  • Manage all direct reports to ensure they are meeting their KPIs and address non-performance in a timely manner

Education and experience Qualifications:

1. Required Certificate IV in TAE

2. Appointment to this position is subject to completion or provision of a mandatory Working with Children check and you demonstrating that you are eligible to work in Australia.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills: prioritising and managing work according to deadlines and performance targets
  • Extensive knowledge of the VET Sector, VET Compliance and adult education practices
  • Leadership skills, including both employee performance management and contractor management experience
  • Writing and editing skills to support the development of training resources
