$98,380 - $110,084 pa (pro rata plus super)

Temporary Part Time (32 hours per week until September 2025)

Join an award-winning Children’s Services Team, dynamic and passionate in supporting children and their families in the Greater Dandenong community. Recent grant funding has created an opportunity for a Team Leader Children’s Services Support.

Primary Objectives Of The Position Include

  • To manage the day to day operations of the Children’s services support team, delivering a quality service that meets professional and legal standards.
  • To provide effective leadership and coordination to ensure the delivery of a dynamic and innovative children’s services support team.
  • To progress opportunities for collaboration and partnerships in the Children’s Services sector.
  • To plan and coordinate the provision and implementation of kindergarten.
  • To support and advocate for the provision of flexible models of quality childcare.
  • Provide support and advice to kindergarten and childcare early year’s managers, community committees of management and private service providers.
  • To implement the actions and activities of the Children’s Plan and assist with strategic planning.
  • To develop, implement and evaluate the municipal early years infrastructure planning.


Relevant Experience Should Include

Essential - a degree level qualification in early childhood, education, health, welfare or related field along with substantial experience or alternatively lesser formal qualifications with extensive relevant experience in community-based project work.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Children’s Services and education sector and issues impacting on children and their families;
  • Strong advocacy and conflict resolution skills including the ability to facilitate meetings and workshops to maximise participation by individuals;
  • Demonstrated project management skills including program planning, design, implementation and evaluation within a community development framework;
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation and frameworks in the provision of kindergarten and childcare;
  • Experience in networking, coordinating, and liaising with a wide range of service providers and other relevant bodies;
  • Ability to engage with diverse community members including marginalised groups.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising staff and managing teams and ability to work as a member of an effective team.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills, interpersonal and organisational skills.
