About the Centre

SDN Beranga is a purpose built preschool for children with ASD located in Rooty Hill. It provides early childhood education for 27 children daily, and also offers early childhood intervention services and children's therapies.

Each child and family attending SDN Beranga is supported with an individual approach to suit their needs. Our staff include teachers, educators, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and cooks.

About The Role

To provide innovative leadership in managing a high quality Children's Education and Care service.

You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to enhance positive outcomes for children with ASD.
You will ensure strong management for the day to day operations of the centre through regular evaluation of systems and processes, as well as management of staff rosters, staff ratios and adequate supervision.

You will ensure centre and staff compliance with relevant legislative documents and build and maintain a strong relationship with children, families, staff and other internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full time maximum term contract position until October 2021.

About You

  • Demonstrated ability to build constructive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience in managing operational budgets, utilisation and marketing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to establish a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement across teams
  • Understanding of Child Protection legislation and holds an approved and current Child Protection Training qualification
  • Approved First Aid Qualification, Anaphylaxis Training and Asthma Management Training
  • University qualifications in Early Childhood Education, which meet the requirements to be a Nominated Supervisor under the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2013
  • Previous experience as a Centre Director with excellent pedagogical practice informed by the EYLF
  • Working with Children's Check clearance number
  • Excellent understanding of the National Quality Framework, including the National Quality Standards, and the national assessment and rating system
  • Knowledge of relevant legislative documents, applicable to the Early Childhood sector
  • Experience in delivering inclusive and integrated services for families, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged families
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team with effective skills in conflict resolution and implementing performance review processes
