The Role

Mint International College is the only certified college in Australia Officially endorsed by the World Association of Master Chefs and their new 2021 Hospitality program seeks Trainers for an immediate start for courses in Commerical Cookery, based in Melbourne CBD.

Several positions are available. Trainers are expected to have current training qualifications, industry experience in the courses in which they are training, a sound understanding of the 2015 Standards for RTOs, the ESOS Framework, and National Code 2018.

Student cohorts are overseas students studying in Australia on a student visa. Trainers are expected to deliver interactive training to ensure class time is productive for students.

There may be opportunities to also participate in international programs in other countries for the right trainer.

The Person

We are looking for the following qualities for these roles:

  • Mandatory must have TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent or a higher-level qualification as specified by ASQA guidelines
  • Must have experience in the field of delivery that is no less that 12 months old
  • Qualifications at the same level or a higher level than the course being delivered
  • Recent demonstrated Professional Development in competency-based training and within the field of the course(s) being delivered
  • Ability to deliver engaging courses for the full duration of the allocated class time
  • Understanding of diligent assessment marking, providing feedback to students and in line with the Principles of Assessment and Rules of Evidence
  • Willingness to contribute to the holistic operation of the RTO

Trainers are sought for the following courses

Primary Teaching Role:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Secondary Teaching Role:

  • Diploma of Hospitality Management
  • Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management

Other desirable qualities:

  • Experience with developing or contextualizing training and assessment materials
  • Ability to use computers and on-line systems for training and assessment

Remuneration

  • Negotiable. $30- $40 per hour depending on experience.
  • These roles are offered as casual or fixed-term contracts. Part-time, casual and full-time contracts will be considered.
