Overview

The Richardson School is now accepting applications for an Instructional Aide position. The Instructional Aides are responsible for providing direct care to students and those participating in camp, respite, and other programs. Assists students/program participants in meeting their educational, treatment, behavioral, and hygiene needs as identified.

The Richardson School provides a year-round school option for local districts to access for children with special needs. Typically, these children have been dually diagnosed with developmental or neurological disabilities and emotional, behavioral or mental health disorders.

Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, you must understand the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve. You will be trained to use proper interventions and approaches while helping students with their daily needs.

As An Instructional Aide, You Will

• Help students with personal cares
• Be involved in behavior/crisis intervention
• Administer medication
• Incident report-writing
• Facilitate learning activities for students
• Accompany students and camp attendees on outings/field trips

• Pay rates start at $14.50/hour

Qualifications

To be considered for this job, you must meet the following requirements.

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good judgement, ability to make quick decisions, and problem solve
• Remain calm under pressure and maintain self-composure in high stress times
• One year of experience working with special needs students strongly preferred
