The Executive Director, School Support is a key leadership role for SRS within the Department of Education and Training (DET). Classification: Executive Class (Salary Range: $180,356 - $262,641)
The Executive Director, School Support is a key leadership role for SRS within the Department of Education and Training (DET). The role works closely with Education Area Executive Directors and key central office program areas to promote and support regional and statewide consistency and lead professional practice and coordination across the region relating to:
- school services and support
- student health, wellbeing and engagement support
The role is responsible for leading a team of professionals who:
- provide coordination and oversight of the delivery of services that support the health, wellbeing and engagement of children and young people, particularly the vulnerable, to enable them to learn and develop to their full potential.
- support services, where appropriate, to improve the wellbeing, learning and development outcomes of the children, young people and adult learners who use their services
- ensure strong service provision across the region
This role supports the Regional Director in driving a state-wide consistent, aligned and coherent approach to planning, implementation and delivery of service support to schools and other services for learners, children and families.
Under the leadership of the Regional Director, the Executive Director, School Support will work closely and collaboratively across DET to:
- Lead and develop a regional team of professionals with a focus on quality, program fidelity and professional practice improvement;
- Ensure high quality regional health and wellbeing services that meet the needs of children, learners and their families;
- Implement consistent, outcome-based standards for service delivery which enable flexible and responsive local service provision;
- Contribute to service redesign to improve service quality and get better efficiency from the resources available;
- Identify and implementing opportunities for service integration that provide a better and more seamless experience for children and young people, learners and their families;
- Work with other agencies, including Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) Area Managers, local government and community based organisations to address the needs of vulnerable children and young people;
- Support the development of a high quality Koorie workforce that supports Koorie children, young people and their families to develop and learn to their full potential;
- Ensure robust regional financial management and oversight of funded programs;
- Establish processes to ensure the learning and development needs of the rural components of the region are given a high priority;
- Exemplify integrity and set a standard for others, supporting others to manage conflicts of interest, and using resources responsibly;
- Model public sector values (integrity, accountability, impartiality, responsiveness, respect, leadership and commitment to human rights).
