JOB DESCRIPTION

The Director of Schools invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced personnel for this temporary full time position with Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) commencing 1 March 2021 (start date negotiable) until 27 January 2022.As a member of the School Improvement Services Primary Team, this position requires significant experience in curriculum and the capacity to support the four Literacy and Numeracy Action Plan (LNAP) schools in State and Diocesan initiative. The role will support schools in addressing the Mission Dimensions of the Strategic Direction document “Lighting the Way” through the implementation of the School Improvement Framework whilst addressing LNAP accountabilities.ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA:Applicants will need to provide evidence of: A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of a Catholic school within the broader Catholic Church.The capacity to work with schools in using the School Review and Improvement Framework to lead learning.The ability to build a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student growth informed by data.A commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.The ability to design and deliver quality professional learning experiences for school staff.Knowledge and experience in meeting System Curriculum Compliance.Capacity to lead and support the Learning and Teaching Advisors (LTA) to strategically address identified learning needs. DESIRABLE SELECTION CRITERIA: Knowledge of and experience in implementing Collaborative Inquiry. The following GENERAL CAPABILITIES are applicable to the role: Well-developed interpersonal skills.Well-developed oral and written communication skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong organisational skills.A commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning formation and growth.Demonstrated skills in use of ICT to improve student learning. QUALIFICATIONS A degree in Primary Education.Accredited Level D to teach Religious Education in accordance with To Work, Teach and Lead policy or a commitment to gain this level within the first 5 years of employment with CEDoW.
